about me
Hey! I’m Mark Elliott, an outgoing, obsessive, and creative thinker dedicated to capturing photographs and videos of people, places, and objects. My work is driven by a passion for portraying people in their best light.
I began my professional journey in 2013 as a videographer and editor at Scissortail Media in Norman, Oklahoma. The following year, I assumed the position of Head of Video at Atria Creative, where we provided photography and videography services for over 100 weddings. Additionally, we shared office space and collaborated with Old Blood Noise Endeavors, a guitar pedal manufacturer, producing music videos, artist portraits, tape series, and various other projects. After five years in the wedding industry, I started operating as Rabbit House Productions, shifting toward international travel, creating content for non-profits, and making social media content for Capital City Barbershop, Flower Moxie, and others.
My wife, Dr. Rosemary Pope, and I moved to Chicago in late 2019, where she began her doctoral studies in biomedical research. I secured a full-time position with Mission Dispensaries as Assistant Manager of the only medical dispensary in South Chicago, serving hundreds of people each day. Alongside my retail duties, I developed marketing materials, including product photography, motion graphics, and video reels, each month. In January 2022, I was invited to join the marketing team at our parent company, 4Front Ventures, traveling across the country to capture content for cultivation centers and retail stores. In the summer of '23, after a decade in my career, I resumed freelancing, covering multiple events over the following two years for Open Heart Magic and MarathonFoto. In the spring of ’24, I worked with Ascend Wellness Holdings on retail grand openings across New England and the Midwest.
By summer 2025, Rosemary earned her PhD in Immunology and secured a Postdoctoral research position at the University of San Diego. We’ve just made our way across the country for the second time, and I’m excited to keep on with my creative journey out here on the West Coast!
A bit about my personal background: I was raised on my grandfather’s modest cattle farm situated on the outskirts of Tulsa County. My grandfather was an avid photographer, with suitcases filled with photographs, 8mm reels, and well-maintained cameras that he let me use during family gatherings. I frequently requested disposable cameras for my birthday to photograph the barn, my friends, and the heavenly Oklahoma skies. Prior to the advent of YouTube, my big sister and I produced short films, editing them entirely in-camera, utilizing any camcorder available to us. After she obtained her degree in Film & Video Studies, I pursued a similar path, studying Fine Arts with an emphasis on Film & Photography at the University of Oklahoma.
I really enjoy spending quality time with my wife and our two cats. We love watching movies together, playing Scrabble, or just listening to music and relaxing. Some of my passions include practicing guitar, playing adventure games, and collecting, cleaning, and organizing vinyl records. Another role I cherish is being a homemaker; creating a warm, welcoming home is truly fulfilling.
